Reasons for Restricting Parent Time

You will need to explain to the court why the parent time you've indicated is in the best interest of your children. If both Petitioner and Respondent agree, the reason can be something like: Petitioner and Respondent agree that Petitioner should have this parent time.

If Petitioner and Respondent do not agree, then you should carefully detail why this parent time arrangement is in the best interest of the children. The following are some examples:

Respondent has physically abused our children and should have parent time only in the presence of a trusted third party mutually acceptable to both parties.

Respondent has indicated that Respondent will take our children to Respondent's country and not return them.
